Job Description
To plan, deliver, and assess engaging and effective lessons that promote learning and development, while fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Teachers are expected to support the academic, social, and emotional growth of students in line with the school’s mission and curriculum.
Responsibilities
  • Planning & Teaching

  • Prepare lesson plans in line with the curriculum and school policies.

  • Deliver engaging, student-centered lessons that meet learners’ needs.

  • Integrate a variety of teaching methods and resources, including technology.

  • Classroom Management

  • Create a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment.

  • Manage student behavior effectively to support learning.

  • Encourage participation, collaboration, and independent thinking.

  • Assessment & Reporting

  • Assess students’ progress using a range of methods.

  • Provide regular feedback to students and parents.

  • Maintain accurate records of student performance.

  • Professional Duties

  • Attend staff meetings, training, and professional development sessions.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to improve teaching and learning.

  • Uphold school policies, values, and safeguarding standards.

Required Skills/Characteristics
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or relevant subject area (Master’s preferred).

  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent).

  • Strong subject knowledge.

  • Effective classroom management and communication skills.

  • Commitment to continuous professional development.

  • Ability to use technology to enhance learning.

Other Details
  • Contract Type: Full-time, fixed-term (renewable).

  • Location: Nouakchott, Mauritania.
